Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park was established in 1994.  Saguaro National Park combined the Rincon Mountain District and the Tucson Mountain District to safeguard the giant saguaro cactus. This national park offers diverse desert landscapes where you can experience the beauty of nature up close. The park features a Visitor Center where you can learn about the area’s history and obtain trail maps to explore over 170 miles of hiking trails.

As you journey through Saguaro National Park, you’ll come across the unique characteristics of its two districts. The Rincon Mountain District rises over 8,000 feet, offering stunning views, while the Tucson Mountain District is home to a denser saguaro forest. Keep your eyes open for the park’s diverse wildlife, including over 200 bird species that inhabit this desert landscape.
